Product Description
Designed for metal roofs (e.g. upright locking edge, corrugated sheet, corrugated sheet, etc.), the hot-dip galvanised metal roof solar panel racking system is made of hot-dip galvanised steel, which provides excellent corrosion and rust resistance through the high-temperature zinc coating process (zinc layer thickness of ≥80μm). The racking system adapts to all types of metal roof structures through clamping or penetrating mounting solutions, without welding or damaging roof integrity, and supports 5°~40° tilt angle adjustment to maximise solar panel power generation efficiency. Suitable for high humidity, coastal areas, industrial plants and other harsh environments, it is compatible with monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin-film solar panels to meet long-term outdoor durability requirements.
Product Advantage
1.Super corrosion resistance
Hot dip galvanising process (in accordance with ASTM A123 standard), the zinc layer is uniform and dense, through 1000 hours salt spray test, corrosion resistance life ≥ 25 years.
2.High load-bearing capacity
Galvanised steel structure design, static load ≥ 6000Pa (approx. 612kg/m²), dynamic wind resistance up to 150mph (approx. 240km/h).
3.Full roof adaptability
Supports a wide range of metal roof types such as Standing Seam, Corrugated and Trapezoidal.
4. Fast and non-destructive installation
Clamping fixture (e.g. S-5 compatible design) eliminates the need for drilling; Penetrating installation is equipped with EPDM waterproof gasket + sealant to ensure roof sealing.
5. Environmentally friendly and low maintenance
Hot-dip galvanised material is 100% recyclable and no additional coating is required to maintain the surface, reducing total lifecycle costs.
6.Flexible Expansion
Modular rail system, support horizontal/vertical expansion, adapt to future solar array upgrade needs.

Installation Instructions
1. Tool preparation: torque spanner, rubber mallet, level, metal cutter (rail cutting), sealant (penetrating installation), EPDM waterproof gasket.
Step-by-Step Guide:
2. Roof Assessment
Confirm metal roof type, sheet thickness and corrosion, measure roof slope and seam spacing.
3.Fixture Positioning
According to the solar panel layout plan, mark the fixture locations along the roof seams or crests to ensure that the spacing meets the loading requirements.
4.Installation base
Clamping type: Snap the galvanised fixture into the upright locking seam and lock it with a torque spanner to the specified value (e.g. 20-25Nm).
Penetrating: Drill holes and fit EPDM gaskets, apply sealant, fix base bolts and ensure complete waterproofing.
5. Assembling the guide rail
Connect the hot dip galvanised guide rail to the base, adjust the level and lock the bolts, cut the excess rail length.
6.Adjusting the tilt angle
Set the optimum tilt angle using the adjustable angle bracket (recommended local latitude ±5°) and lock the fixings.
7.Fixing solar panels
Embed the panels into the rails and fix them using stainless steel clamps to avoid excessive pressure on the panel edges.
8.Sealing and Acceptance
Apply sealant twice to penetration mounting points, carry out a drench test and check all joints are secure.
Safety Tip:
Wear non-slip shoes and safety harnesses and avoid stepping directly on metal roof valleys (may cause deformation).
Follow local building codes (e.g. IBC, ASCE 7) and suspend installation in extreme weather (heat/ice).

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between hot dip galvanising and ordinary galvanising?
A: Hot-dip galvanising covers the steel with high-temperature molten zinc, which has a thicker zinc layer (80-120μm), far greater corrosion resistance than electro-galvanising (only 5-15μm), and a life span of more than three times longer.
Q2: Is it suitable for coastal high salt spray environment?
A: Yes, the hot dip galvanising process has passed the ASTM B117 salt spray test, and the zinc layer is resistant to salt erosion, making it particularly suitable for corrosive environments such as coastal and chemical plants.
Q3: Will the installation affect the original roof warranty?
A: Warranty is usually not affected when non-penetrating clamps are used and comply with the manufacturer's specifications. Penetrating installations need to ensure that the sealing is up to standard and it is recommended that the roofing supplier be consulted in advance.
Q4: How long is the warranty on the racking system?
A: Hot-dip galvanised bracket structure is guaranteed for 25 years, and waterproof accessories (e.g. EPDM gaskets) are guaranteed for 10 years, with third-party inspection reports provided.
Q5: Do I need to maintain the zinc coating regularly?
A: No special maintenance is required, the zinc layer will naturally form a protective film; if the surface is scratched, it can be repaired by local spraying of zinc paint.
Q6: What is the maximum snow load?
A: The static load is ≥6000Pa (about 612kg/m²), which meets the standards of most of the high snow pressure areas in the world (e.g. North America, Northern Europe).
Q7: Is it compatible with all solar panel types?
A: It is compatible with mainstream solar panels (60/72 cells, double-glazed modules, etc.), with maximum panel width ≤ 1.2m, and panel dimensions need to be provided to confirm compatibility.
Q8: How to ensure waterproof after installation?
A: Penetrating installation adopts a 'sandwich' sealing structure (metal base + EPDM gasket + silicone sealing), which has passed UL 790 waterproof certification.
Q9: Can I install it by myself?
A: Clamping fixtures can be DIY, but the torque value should be strictly followed; Penetrating mounting is recommended to be operated by professional team to ensure the sealing.
Q10: Is the hot-dipped galvanised bracket heavier than the aluminium alloy bracket?
A: Yes, galvanised steel is denser than aluminium alloy, but stronger, suitable for high load or extreme climate scenarios, need to ensure that the roof loading is up to standard (≥30kg/m²).
